Please let me introduce myself. I am Erik Gordon. I am a newly retired high school principal, after proudly serving in public education for the last twenty-six years.
I have lived in Ward 4 for fourteen years, and in Stouffville for twenty. Over the years, I have coached children at the Leisure Centre, taught Sunday school, and sat on the town’s Bylaw Appeals and Property Standards Committee.
I have very relevant community and professional experience, and a track record of success, positioning me well for the role of Ward 4 Councillor. I am ready to further serve our community.

I have lived for fourteen years on Elm Rd. We have raised two boys here, through the schools and on the fields. And I have spent twenty-six years learning that people can live with a decision they disagree with, but not with being ignored.

Mr. Gordon was not only an incredible principal, but an incredible person to have in the school community. There are so many amazing qualities to note such as his incredible problem-solving skills, his willingness to help others, his kindness towards everyone, and his ability to take control of situations. For me personally, he has helped me with a variety of different things no matter if it was school, football, or music, he was always there to help. The positive impact he has made on both me and the school will forever be remembered, and I know he will change many more lives in the future.
Erik is your ideal candidate for Councillor. As a former educational leader, his genuine care and concern for the well-being of his school community has been a focal point throughout his career. Erik has a moral compass and is passionate about listening to and helping others.
As the parent of two boys who completed high school at Huron Heights, I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Gordon over the years. He has a unique and gentle way of encouraging positivity while still providing the guidance and structure children need. His dedication, compassion, and genuine care for the children and families of the Huron Heights community have always been greatly appreciated.
As School Council Chair, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Erik for many years, and what has stood out to me most is how genuinely he listens and cares. His commitment to the well-being of students (academically, physically, mentally, and socially) was clear in the way he led.

Whitchurch-Stouffville is offering internet voting for the first time. Online voting opens on October 17 and stays open until 8 PM on election day, alongside the usual in-person options.
